Junko Nishina
After working for three years as a counsellor in the women's counselling centre of a local government in the Tokyo metropolitan area of Japan, she moved to Australia in 2008. She obtained a Master's in Social Work from Flinders University Graduate School in 2014. Since then, she has worked in an NPO providing childcare support, adult and child mental health, trauma, support for victims of domestic violence, couples therapy and family therapy.
I started working in counseling after meeting a wonderful counselor in Tokyo. While receiving counseling as a client, I realized how much the ability to listen can help with emotional recovery and self-reflection. This experience motivated me to study counseling and psychotherapy.
